Springtime is here!

Happy Spring, everyone! Ah, my favorite week of the year is here! It’s the week the 80-year-old white dogwood and hot pink azaleas in front of my house bloom. And there are these beautiful low-growing purple field flowers sprinkling the front lawn. AHHHH! Heaven.
Luckily, I’m home in between touring and have been working off of the front porch as much as possible to soak in all the beauty. The birds and bees, and the warm sunshine. Life is good.
After a great week in North Carolina, I’m back home taking care of some home improvements. For my birthday, which was April 2, my sweet wonderful mom got me paint and carpet to replace the old 20 yr old carpet in the bedroom! We scheduled the painting while I was in North Carolina, and Whit managed all that for me. She did a great job, and I came home to newly painted walls from Fast Handyman here in Nashville. I’ve always done all my own fix-up/painting projects myself, both to save money, and also because I enjoy it, but I do have to say it was a really nice change to come home and have it done!
Then yesterday, Empire Today came and put in the carpet. They are running a free installation special right now, and we had an angel of a saleswoman named Anne swoop in and give us a great deal on just the carpet we wanted. They carpet installers finished in one day, and didn’t leave a mark. They were professional and fast. Last night, I walked barefoot up my stairs and felt the soft, clean, unstained carpet under my feet, smiling from ear-to-ear.
So, I’m feeling very thankful right now, and very accomplished that the house is in order here before a long and exciting summer of touring. Happy spring!
