New Year, New Blog, New Site
So… it’s 2010! I look back on resolutions I’ve made in New Years’ past and think I’m batting about 50%. And only because I’m reluctant to make promises I don’t feel I can keep. Yes, it’s tough resolving to change your life, your patterns, your habits, your mind! You all know it’s true. That’s why I think this month’s guest blog is so appropriate. There are some tips that will actually help resolve and follow through. yay!
On that note, I want to talk about my resolutions.
1. Drive to the gym everyday. Just kidding… i’m not there yet. (Read the guest blog)
Help others… I am always sure that music connects and helps people, and that’s why I do music. Thing is, I always want to do more and don’t. Why? I guess because I’m never sure my money is going to directly help those I see, and I don’t really feel comfortable the way some people with disabilities or terminal illnesses or poverty are portrayed sometimes by some ads. I think that’s a lame excuse, but it’s the truth. I wonder if you feel the same way? Well, the “help others” link includes some charities I’ve found that I really like. Some are huge, and some are not, and some give ideas for ways you can help all on your own in your own time. They include purchasing products to help others, monetary gifts, or volunteer options. I have so much to be thankful for. One of my resolutions is to be more involved in helping others find their own beautiful world.
I also want to:
Reach out and find the answers to things I know nothing about when I need to learn. Don’t assume what others will think of me not knowing and chicken out. Talk to people who do know and find the answers!
Lose a little weight. Exercise a little more. Eat a little better.
Organize my patches into fewer patches. Maybe even put a few away in drawers and filing cabinets.
Don’t try and fix everything.
Don’t assume i’m right. Don’t assume I’m wrong. Follow my gut and work harder than ever.
Keep an open heart.
Keep an open mind.
Do at least 70 shows in 2010.
Busy year.
